Cloud based ISR Integrated Blue Forces/HUMINT System with Selforganizing HUMINT capability.
I
am proposing a system comprising basically of a central cloud, unmanned
surveillance vehicles on autopilot,ground blue forces and support
HUMINT/R&STA Team within an Area of operations , relatively unknown
and new to the blue forces, and with designated search areas , areas to
be patrolled , these taskings and locations predetermined by intrusive
reconnaissance and surveillance teams prior to the deployment of blue
forces (Say an interim brigade combat team).
We
have 3 sets of
data to be stored in the database of the cloud CNISR (See below for the
term),viz raw data,metadata and beliefs.Raw data/metadata ill explain
in contect below.Beliefs are abstract geospatial artifacts about the
current
situation.They are time sensitive, that is updated by sensor input with
time(Clouds own sensor payload and those of unmanned vehicles network
and from the ground humint teams)..Beliefs can be a particular target
at a particular location in the current time.Or it can be a search area
, defined, or blue force loaction at the current time.Beliefs can be
ascertained by collection platforms or humint agents.Mission level
objectives that drive the collection process are a special set of
beliefs produced by humans , for example the commander.We can install
pattern recognition software in overhead or remotely installed
sensors/observation posts or data-fusion algorithm to recognize these
geospatial artifacts called beliefs.Thus beliefs can be autonomously
generated.We further have a truth-ascertaining system or rather
conflict resolution software that will select the more accurate belief
from a set of beliefs , based on time progression.For example one
humint
agent at time t0 can posit that there is an enemy target at this
point(grid x,y) and another agent more recently posits that there
is no observable enemy target at (grid x,y) at time t1 where
t1>t0.The truth ascertaining system software will automaticaly
select the most recent observable value posted by the concerned humint
agent in the database.This can be further refined by arrangement of an
efficient data storage and retreival system that caches the most recent
timely and relevant data for retreival(rapid access).In systems where
over a long time much information has been stored by all agents to be
manageable , then the truth ascertaining system software removes older
data.For caching and removal factors that are embedded in the software
to determine logical flow are;
1.operational relevance
2.age of the data
3.proximity to the blue forces
4.uniqueness
5.accuracy
6.specificity
Self organizing humint team:
Other
overhead sensors each locate geospatial atrifacts like blue forces
location , search areas, track reports of a specific class of targets
at specific routes or location,an alert data such as a perceived
threat recognized by pattern recognition software for ex. enemy
tank,uniformed soldier,weapon within a certain distance of the location
of blue forces or soldier,......these data are communicated to the
humint team spread out widely and the team reorganizes (overhead sensor
time of collection , pose and position are matched with these
beliefs or raw data collected by the sensors and the geolocation of the
blue forces to give a vivid picture of metadata information by
providing context to the raw data in relation to the surroundings of
the blue forces,the truth ascertaining system prunes the data
keeping the 6 factors in consideration and further refines the matching
process..and all this is fed to the humint team , team members
communicate within themselves , change collection priorities and self
organize to start anew observation , surveillance and reconnaissance ,
all the time providing feedback to the blue forces S2.).
Overhead
unmanned sensors can be on autopilot and can be connected to a "cloud"
, ill term it Control Node ISR , CNISR, where we will basically have a
software system which will include truth ascertaining software/storage
and retreival system software/processor to execute the softwares, radio
system to communicate with the seperate
unmanned vehicle nodes as
well as the handheld devices with the blue forces and humint team,and
an analog to digital converter to convert CNISR and unmanned vehicles
sensor collected data to digital form for processing.
