acquisition,enhancing unit commanders situational awareness and less
dependancy on far flung Bde Int Staff in case of remote deployments.
Boot level int capability was the idiom of the field prior to WWII.It was no longer so with the advent of conventional warfare where centralized higher HQ int staff were more concerned with major operations in the battlespace that had strategic implications and distributed tactical battles were left to fend for themselves with their own mission and little support from int assets in higher HQ

Roles of the CLIC Soldiers
- CLIC Chief: tasking, delegation, and supervision of day-to-day operations and advise commander on intelligence matters
- CLIC Soldiers:
- intelligence support to ongoing ops via COC and participation in missions,
- planning for future ops,
- production and analysis of basic and current intelligence from databases and combat reporting
Duties of the CLIC
- Brief outgoing patrols and staff
- Debrief patrols
- Conduct IPB
- Manage collection effort at company
- Analysis (Events/Targets/Honesty Traces)
- Targeting (Kinetic/Non-kinetic)
- Intelligence support to detention ops
Duties of the CLIC Chief
- Ensure briefs are conducted for outgoing patrols
- Provide intelligence briefs to Company leadership
- Supervise IPB for Company AO and individual missions
- Ensure debriefing occurs for all patrols
- Manage collection effort at company
Duties of the CLIC Chief
- Supervise and review analysis of events and combat reporting for validity to Bnintel effort
- Attend targeting boards/meetings to provide nominations and supporting intel products to Co. Cmdr
- Assist Company leadership in detention ops by providing necessary intelligence and evidentiary materials to support detention
Duties of the CLIC Chief
- Conduct coordination with HHQ to request additional intelligence resources in accordance with Company collection effort
- Conduct coordination with adjacent and supporting units for dissemination of relevant intelligence information and products
- Ensure all products are up to date pertaining to IPB, Collections, Analytical Tools, Target Dossiers, CLIC Journals, Bn reports (INTSUM, TSE Supplementary reports, SITREP)
